State Report Evaluation

Anthology Student supports State Report Evaluations for the State of Georgia for the HOPE Grant/Scholarship and the Zell Miller Scholarship.

You can use the State Report page to: 

  • Review the benchmark evaluations for a student

  • Review current and historical tier evaluations for a student

  • Review and override the statuses for the HOPE grant or scholarship and the Zell Miller scholarship

  • Print a summary report that shows their HOPE GPA, hours attended, and information about the disbursements for their scholarships

The information and flags on the page help you determine the eligibility of the student for HOPE and Zell Miller awards. Anthology Student does not prevent you from adding the awards for a student who does not meet the criteria.

The evaluation of the HOPE and Zell Miller criteria crosses all enrollments and campuses for the student. The page is not program version-specific. The items on the page are associated with all the program versions in the Program Version list. The values are updated every time the evaluation job runs, so it is current and accurate for the student. When the scheduled job runs to evaluate the eligibility of the student, Anthology Student: 

  • Uses the current date for the evaluation of the student

  • Evaluates the benchmark values and tier configurations for each student by using the criteria that were configured for state reporting for Georgia

For transfer students, the job evaluates the transfer credits on active and inactive terms while evaluating benchmarks. The job: 

  • First, evaluates the transfer credits that have been completed in the term by sorting the credits in order by the date completed of the course

  • Then, groups together the courses that fall within the appropriate months for the most recent year, and the appropriate values are used to calculate a GPA value

If the evaluation of the spring term benchmark is achieved with the transfer credits, Anthology Student: 

  • Calculates a GPA for the student

  • Displays the completion date for the course and marks the term as a transfer

If a benchmark is not achieved within a registered term, Anthology Student will review the transfer credits on the student to evaluate if a benchmark of 30, 60, or 90 is achieved.

You can also use the State Report page to print a summary report that shows a student's HOPE GPA, hours attended, and information about disbursements for scholarships.

Prerequisites

You must have:

  • Common - Student - View authorization

  • To view the evaluations, Financial Aid - State Report Evaluation - View authorization

  • To override the values for the grant or scholarships, Financial Aid - State Grant Eligible Student - Edit authorization

Access Method

Select the Students tile > select the name in the Students list > expand Financial Aid > select the State Report Evaluation tile.

Procedure to Evaluate Eligibility for State Grants

Benchmark Evaluation Tab

Use the Benchmark Evaluation tab to filter the data and queue the batch job.

  1. On the Benchmark Evaluation tab, review the following values.

    Cum CreditsClosed The cumulative credits for the benchmark or tier.

    Cum GPAClosed The cumulative grade point average (GPA) for the benchmark. The cumulated GPA for an enrollment is calculated from the time the student entered the institution under that enrollment. The Cumulative GPA column includes all courses taken that are selected to be included in the GPA calculation. In the case of a cumulative GPA displayed on a term, it consists of all the courses taken up to and within the terms that are also selected to be included in the GPA calculation. The current GPA is made up of only the courses that occurred in that term.

    DescriptionClosed Displays the name of the benchmark or tier for the evaluation. They are configured by your institution.

    Eligibility StatusClosed The eligibility status for the HOPE grant or scholarship and Zell Miller scholarship. During the evaluation process, the job evaluates the minimum GPA from the fund source configuration as the minimum and compares it to the GPA value for the benchmark. If the GPA for the benchmark is greater than or equal to the minimum GPA value for each configured fund source, the student passes. If the GPA for the benchmark is less than the minimum GPA for the fund source, the student fails that benchmark.

    Failure DateClosed When the value for Eligibility Status is Fail and the student has a HOPE Scholarship or Zell Miller Scholarship on file, the failure date. Anthology Student uses the term end date as the date the student failed the benchmark.

    TermClosed The term that was evaluated.

  2. Review, and if needed override, the following values. 

    High School Grad Date Closed The high school graduation date in the file imported from the State of Georgia.

    HOPE Eligibility FlagClosed Indicates student eligibility for the HOPE grant and scholarship. The values are Yes and No. The value must be Yes for a student to be eligible for the fund source. If the field is blank, no value was imported from the State of Georgia. If a value is displayed, you can override the value.

    Zell Miller Eligibility Flag Closed Indicates student eligibility for the Zell Miller scholarship. The values are Yes, No, and Undetermined. The value must be Yes for a student to be eligible for the fund source. If the field is blank, no value was imported from the State of Georgia. If a value is displayed, you can override the value.

     

  3. If you made changes, select the Save & Close button.

Continue with the Tier Evaluation tab.

Tier Evaluation Tab

Use the Tier Evaluation tab to review the results of manually queued jobs.

  1. Select the Tier Evaluation tab and review the values.

    Credit Type Closed The type of credit.

    Cum CreditsClosed The cumulative credits for the benchmark or tier.

    DescriptionClosed Displays the name of the benchmark or tier for the evaluation. They are configured by your institution.

    Last DateClosed The last date the student was evaluated at the tier before the student progressed to the next tier.

  2. Review, and if needed override, the following values. 

    High School Grad Date Closed The high school graduation date in the file imported from the State of Georgia.

    HOPE Eligibility FlagClosed Indicates student eligibility for the HOPE grant and scholarship. The values are Yes and No. The value must be Yes for a student to be eligible for the fund source. If the field is blank, no value was imported from the State of Georgia. If a value is displayed, you can override the value.

    Zell Miller Eligibility Flag Closed Indicates student eligibility for the Zell Miller scholarship. The values are Yes, No, and Undetermined. The value must be Yes for a student to be eligible for the fund source. If the field is blank, no value was imported from the State of Georgia. If a value is displayed, you can override the value.

     

  3. If you made changes, select the Save & Close button.

Procedure to Generate a HOPE Summary Report

  1. Select the HOPE Summary Report button. Anthology Student displays the report in a Report Viewer.

  2. Use the controls in the Report Viewer to review, save, export, or print the report.
