General Settings for Student Services

You can use the General page to edit the general configuration parameters related to Student Services and housing setup for Anthology Student. This enables users to manage housing transactions pertaining to deposits, application fees, and rent charges.

You can also configure the settings that validate the current room capacity when placing a student in a room or updating the housing period. This configuration affects Roommate Matching, Switch Room, Change Graduation Dates, Update Housing Period, and Renew Lease.

Prerequisites

You must have Student Services - Settings - Manage authorization.

Access Method

Select the Settings tile > expand Student Services > select General.

Procedure to Edit Items

  1. Review, specify, or change the following value.

    Services Categories used in Student ServicesClosed Select the service categories available to Housing area users that will allow them to post incidental charges.

  2. Select the options to configure the following lists to set up housing.

    List Options

    Room Assignments

    Validate Current Room Occupancy byClosed Select the option to validate current room occupancy. The options are: - End Date: Validates the number of students in a room based on the End Date specified in the Roommate Matching. - Date Range: Validates the number of students in a room based on the whole lease period specified in the Roommate Matching.

    Validate Student Room Assignment based on Deposit StatusClosed Select this check box to validate the student's eligibility for room assignment based on deposit status. This is a system-level override of the student validation for Deposit in the Roommate Matching.

    Validate Student Room Assignment based on Packaging StatusClosed Select this check box to validate the student's eligibility for room assignment based on packaging status. This is a system-level override of the student validation for Packaging Status in the Roommate Matching.

    Rent Settings

    Automated Rent BillingClosed If you select the check box, the rent billing process is automated for Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Flat Rate billing Frequencies. Automated Rent Billing will not be effective for leases generated for rooms with Term Frequency. If you clear the check box, manual billing of rent charges based on lease and charge schedule dates is enabled.

    Manual Review of Rent ChargesClosed If you select the check box, the pending rent charges are set for a manual review at a later date. The charges will not post directly to the student's ledger when they are billed from Housing Lease page or Post Rent Charges. If you clear the check box, the rent charges are directly posted to the student ledger.

  1. Select Save to save the changes.
