Delete Assignments for Non-Teaching Activities
You can use the Assignment Manager page to delete assignments for non-teaching activities. Deleting an item permanently removes it. No record of deleted list items is maintained in Anthology Student.
Because teaching activities are classes, you cannot delete teaching activities in the Assignment Manager. You must manage teaching activities using the Class Scheduling workspace. (Select the Class Scheduling tile.)
When the Advanced Feature flag Enable Load Banking is set to Yes (refer to Advanced Features), the assignment actions Delete, Reset Assignment Statuses, and Return to Draft will remove the banked loads from the bank.
If Anthology Student is integrated with an external human resources (HR) and payroll system (for example, Anthology Finance & HCM or any third-party HR and payroll application), you must use Anthology Student to manage the items (such as generating or exporting earning lines, and so on).
Prerequisites
You must have:
-
Common - Processes - View authorization
-
Faculty Workload - Processes - Assignment Manager - View and Manage authorization
The assignment must:
-
Be for a non-teaching activity
-
Not have a value of Finalized for Overall Status
-
Have a value of Generated for Pay Generation Status
if your institution has not configured integration
To integrate with an external payroll system, your institution must have configured Yes under Settings > Faculty Workload > General for the feature: Export Payroll Earning Lines from FWM
If your institution has configured integration with an external payroll system, the value for Pay Generation Status must be Not-Generated, Generated, or Exported Partially if there is an Error for all earning lines. Check earning line Status
.
Access Method
Select the Processes tile > locate Faculty Workload > select Assignment Manager.
Procedure to Delete an Assignment
-
Select the record for a non-teaching assignment.
-
Select the Assignment Actions menu > Delete. Anthology Student displays the confirmation dialog.
-
If Enable Load Banking is set to No, the dialog message is:
Do you want to delete the assignment records?
-
If Enable Load Banking is set to Yes, the dialog message is:
Do you want to delete the assignment records? Any assigned load, overload, or banked load, will be deleted with the action.
-
-
In the dialog, select the Delete button.
Anthology Student removes the assignment record from the grid. If the record is for a teaching assignment, it cannot be deleted.
Implications of Deleting Assignments With Banked Loads
If you delete an assignment record with a banked load that is validated and has created a banked load, any assigned load, overload, or banked load will be deleted.
If you delete a class section from the Class Scheduling tile in a validated state (but not finalized or confirmed/exported), the banked load will be deleted as well.
If you delete an assignment created from an applied bank load, the load will be returned to the bank as long as the banked load has not expired. If the banked load has expired, the assignment cannot be deleted. You will receive a message indicating that the banked load has expired and cannot be returned to the bank.
