Manage Books for a Class Section

Using the Book Lists page, you can:

  • View book lists already configured for the course for the class section and assign the books in the lists
  • Add books to the book list
  • Remove books from the book list
  • Unassign a book from the class section
  • Select or clear the Required flag for a book

The book requirements are then made available to students on their schedules and online through the Student Portal.

If your institution configured default book lists for the course for the class section, the book lists are displayed. Anthology Student displays the book lists if they are configured:

  • With the delivery method selected for the class section
  • Without a delivery method

In addition, the book lists are available for selection only if the Start Date of the class section falls between the Effective Date and Obsolete Date of the Book List, and at least one effective book is associated with the book list.

The Books grid contains a list of all the books contained in any of the assigned book lists. You can modify the book assignments for the specific class section being edited. Any modifications made will only be in effect for the individual class section that is being modified.

If an institution is not using the predefined Book List functionality that is on the Course configuration, they may assign individual books directly to each individual course section by selecting the Add Book button in the Books grid. This feature can also be used to assign additional ad hoc books to class sections that have book lists assigned.
