Regulatory Release Cycles

The Regulatory cycle starts with a new Regulatory version XX.0.0 for the new award year. This version is typically released no later than October of the year preceding the next award year. For example, the October 2021 release contains the Application Processing updates for the 2022-23 award year.

When the Department of Education (ED) releases the annual updates to the Pell awards, scripts are provided to update the award tables in Anthology Student. This usually occurs in February.

In the April time frame, when COD updates have become available from the Department of Education (ED), the Regulatory software is updated to include the COD updates. The COD updates are released in a minor version of the Regulatory software XX.1.0.

The April release may include other components, such as SSCR, College Finance Plan, and Gainful Employment (GE) if updates to these components are available from ED at the target release date. Otherwise, the additional components are included in another Regulatory version in the June time frame XX.2.0.

The August release (XX.2.0 or XX.3.0) provides FISAP support for the current award year and IPEDS reporting for the prior award year.

The Regulatory 1098-T Processing Utility is updated annually in November to include the reporting requirements for the current tax year.
