Skills

You can use the Skills page to configure skills. The skills for a student can be matched with skills required by employers for available jobs. You can:

  • If you are using AnthologyOccupation Insight (OI), have the skills sourced from OI

  • Add skills manually or add to the skills sourced from OI

Skills can be:

  • Selected for a student individually. (Select the Students tile > select the name in the Students list > expand Career Services > select the Certifications & Skills tile.)

  • Configured as attributes for a course. When the course is completed and any requirements are met, Anthology Student automatically associates the skills with the student. (Select the Configuration tile > expand Academic Records > select Courses.)

  • Added to a program version here. When the program version is completed, Anthology Student automatically associates the skills with the student. Program versions are added to skills on this page.

If you are using Anthology Occupation Insight (OI), the skills in OI are synchronized with the skills in the Anthology Student using the OI Sync Agent. The Source column will display Occupation Insight if the skill was synched. When you configure the attributes for a course, Anthology Student will also display a Recommended Skills button. Staff members can use the Recommended Skills button to populate a list of skills sourced from Occupation Insight that are intelligently matched with the course using Anthology's Intelligent Experiences (iX).

Your institution can define custom properties that are unique to your institution using the Extended Properties page. (Select the Settings tile > expand System > select Extended Properties.)

The Extended Properties section on this page displays all the fields that your institution has defined so that you can view, complete, and edit them. Because the fields vary by institution, your institution will provide tooltips or additional information you need to complete or edit the fields. If your institution has not configured extended properties, this section is not visible.

Prerequisites

To view the page, you must have Career Services - Configuration - View authorization.

To edit the page, you must have Career Services - Configuration - Manage authorization.

To edit an item associated with more than one campus, you must have access to all the campuses. For example, if the item is configured to be available at three campuses and you only have access to two of the campuses, you can view the item, but cannot edit it. When you add an item, you can only select campuses to which you have access.

Access Method

Select the Configuration tile > expand Career Services > select Skills.
