Add a Course as an Equivalent Course
You can add a course as an equivalent course. Equivalent courses are courses with different course numbers that institutions designate as equivalent so that students can take a course equivalent to a course listed in their programs, but with different course numbers. For example, ENG 101 (English 101) can be the equivalent of LIT 101 (Literature 101).
If a course code changes, you can also designate that the new course code is equivalent to the old one.
Anthology Student takes into account changes in the course code for the:
-
Grade point average (GPA) calculation when processing courses as a retake
-
Degree progress audit (DPA) calculation when the new course code fits in with the degree requirements for the student
Prerequisites
You must have Academics - Configuration - Manage authorization.
To edit an item associated with more than one campus, you must have access to all the campuses. For example, if the item is configured to be available at three campuses and you only have access to two of the campuses, you can view, but cannot edit it. (When you add an item, you can only select campuses to which you have access.)
Access Method
Select the Configuration tile > locate Academic Records > select Courses > add or select a course in the list > select the Parent Courses & Equivalents tile.
Procedure to Add Items
A course cannot be selected as an equivalent and cross-referenced at the same time.
-
Under Equivalent and Cross Referenced Courses, select the Add Equivalent.
Anthology displays a list of courses. The list contains courses that have not been selected as cross referenced.
-
Select one or more courses that will be associated as an equivalent.
-
Select Select.
The course is added to the grid and Type is set to Equivalent.
