Add a Course as a Cross Referenced Course

You can add a course as a cross-referenced course. When a course is defined as cross referenced, you can offer the classes to students from other campuses. It gives students additional options to register for course sections that may be filled at their home campus.

Anthology Student records the course that the student registers for and the original course required by the student program.

Once a course has been cross referenced with another campus, the students can view and register for the cross referenced course.

For students to enroll in cross referenced courses, your institution must have:

  • Selected Yes & Use CRSG (Course Registration Sharing Groups) for Student RegistrationClosed Select the option that determines where students can register. The options are Yes: Only courses offered at the student's campus are displayed. No: The listing of all courses offered within the defined campus group is used.. and Yes & Use CRSG (Course Registration Sharing Groups). For the last option, course sections are shared with other campuses giving students additional options to register for course sections that may be filled at their home campus. For additional information about the student registration, see the background for academic records general settings. when it configured all the general settings for academic records

  • Selected the campuses where the courses will be shared in the Course Registration Sharing Group list when it configured the scheduling and attendance settings in academic records for the campus

Prerequisites

You must have Academics - Configuration - Manage authorization.

To edit an item associated with more than one campus, you must have access to all the campuses. For example, if the item is configured to be available at three campuses and you only have access to two of the campuses, you can view, but cannot edit it. (When you add an item, you can only select campuses to which you have access.)

Access Method

Select the Configuration tile > locate Academic Records > select Courses > add or select a course in the list > select the Parent Courses & Equivalents tile.

Procedure to Add Items

You cannot select a course as cross referenced for more than one course. If you select a course that is cross referenced to another course already, Anthology displays a message when you select Save or Save & Close.

A course cannot be selected as an equivalent and cross-referenced at the same time.

  1. Under Equivalent and Cross Referenced Courses, select the Add Cross Reference.

Anthology displays a list of courses. The list contains courses that have not been selected as cross referenced.

  2. Select one or more courses that will be associated as a cross-reference course.

  3. Select Select.

The course is added to the grid and Type is set to Cross Referenced.
