Concentrations

You can use the Concentrations page to add previously defined concentrations to a Major.

Prerequisites

To edit the page, you must have Academics - Configuration - Manage authorization.

Your institution must have selected Major for Type for the area of study ( Select the Configuration tile > locate Academic Records > select Areas of Study.)

Access Method

Select the Configuration tile > locate Academic Records > select Area of Study > select the New button and specify the general information or select an existing area of study name for a Major > select the Concentrations tile.

Procedure to Configure Concentrations

  1. Review values in the list.

    CatalogClosed The catalog configured by your institution. The catalog contains the courses required for a program version or area of study. The Default - None catalog should not be used.

    CodeClosed The alphanumeric code assigned to the item by your institution. In most cases, codes must be unique.

    NameClosed The descriptive name of the item.

     

  2. Take the appropriate action in the list. 

    • To add a concentration:

      1. Select the Add button. Anthology Student displays the select Concentrations dialog.

      2. Specify or change the value for CatalogClosed The catalog configured by your institution. The catalog contains the courses required for a program version or area of study. The Default - None catalog should not be used..

        Anthology Student populates the list.

      3. Review the values in the list.

        NameClosed The descriptive name of the item.

        CodeClosed The alphanumeric code assigned to the item by your institution. In most cases, codes must be unique.

      4. Select the Select button.

      Anthology Student saves the concentration record.

    • To remove a concentration:

      Select the record and select the Remove button.

      Anthology Student removes the concentration record.
