Customize the Placements & Internships Form

You can use the New Placement Required Fields page to customize the fields on the Placements & Internships page ( Select the Students tile > select the name in the Students list > expand Career Services > select the Placements & Internships tile. ).

The following fields are required by Anthology Student.

  • Date Placed

  • Employer

  • Job Type

  • Placement Status

  • Start Date

  • Student Name

For the remaining fields on the Placement & Internships page, your institution can: 

  • Select the remaining predefined fields in Anthology Student that they want on the page

  • Add school defined fields that get displayed under Additional Placement Information - School Defined Fields on the page

For both predefined and school defined fields, you institution can specify which fields are required and the order they are displayed. For example, if your institution makes the Salary field required, you must specify an amount even if the position is unpaid.

You can also remove the fields from the Placements & Internships page.

Note: Removal of the school defined field permanently deletes the data specified for those fields from the Anthology Student database.

Prerequisites

You must have: 

  • To view the page, Career Services – Settings – View authorization

  • To add, edit, or remove school defined fields, Career Services – Settings – Manage authorization

If your institution wants to use school defined fields, your institution must have configured School Defined fields for Career Services. (Select the Settings tile > expand System > select School Defined Fields.)

If you want to remove a school defined field, the school defined column must contain a value of Yes.

Access Method

Select the Settings tile > expand Career Services in the tree > select New Placement Required Fields.

Procedure to Specify the Fields

  1. Review the fields available for you to select in Anthology Student database.

    FieldClosed The field in the Anthology Student database that was changed.

    School Defined FieldClosed Select the entry fields for students that are unique to your institution.

    System RequiredClosed Indicates the field which is in database as system required field.

    User RequiredClosed Indicates the user required field.

  2. Select the appropriate check boxes.

    Enable in New PlacementClosed Select the check box to enable the fields in the Placement Internship form (Select the Students tile > select the name in the Students list > expand Career Services > Select the Placements & Internships tile.)

    RequiredClosed Select the check boxes under the Required button to make the selected fields mandatory through the form.

  3. If you want to add school defined fields, click the Add School Defined Fields button. Anthology Student displays the Select School Defined Fields dialog box.

  4. On the dialog, select the fields you want to include on the form.

  5. Click the Select button.

    Anthology Student populates the list with the school defined fields in the order that they were selected.

  6. Select the appropriate check boxes for the newly added school defined fields.

    RequiredClosed Select the check boxes under the Required button to make the selected fields mandatory through the form.

  7. In the OrderClosed Indicates the order in which the school defined fields will be posted. column, specify the number to reorder the fields.

  1. Click Save to save the changes.  

Procedure to Remove School Defined Fields

  1. Select the check box for the field you want to remove.

  2. Click the Remove School Defined Fields button. Anthology Student deletes the school defined field and any data specified for that field from the database.
